This beautiful rose with two types of gold leaf is part of my very popular miniature series on 1/8" Aquabord panels. However, it is only the2nd time that I have used in my miniatures gold leaf in the background as well as in the body of the main subject. I have often used this technique in my larger artwork though.The background composite gold leaf was completely sealed before i used a raised contour of gold leaf in the flower in a technique similar in effect to a "cloisonné" technique where the decoration is formed by first adding compartments or cells to a metal object.

This miniature comes with its own mini easel for easy display on a shelf or table. Naturally it can also be framed.
