Here is another miniature in my series of "Nature's Liittle Jewels". This painting is on an 1/8"Aquabord by Ampersand; it is 5"x 5", a bit larger than most of my miniatures. I love how vibrant the colors remain on this surface and the fact that the resulting painting does not need any glass. I love to display these small panels on a mini easel, but they can also be inserted in a regular frame. In this miniature, the zinnia petals and the butterfly details are outlined in gold leaf and the painting has a glossy, almost glass-like finish. It makes a perfect small gift for all occasions. On a small easel ( available starting at $ 1 approx. at Walmart or Michaels), it can sit on a shelf, near your computer. You can also insert it in a small frame or even a larger frame with a small opening. Whatever you decide, this beautiful swallowtail butterfly sitting on a zinnia will add a touch of delicate color, beauty and serenity to any room. Bring nature inside!
