Precious II

Birds Nests are such strong symbols in many aspects of human life. They represent dreams, hope, love, family, security...This semi-abstract nest protects one very precious content!
This painting is part of my series of nests. I painted this scene in acrylic on an archival Ampersand claybord panel and varnished it; it has UV protection. It is sold unframed; it can be framed or it can be displayed on a small easel.

It would make a perfect companion piece for my "Precious I", in the same series.

Precious I

Birds Nests are such strong symbols in many aspects of human life. They represent dreams, hope, love, family, security...This semi-abstract nest protects one very precious content!
I painted this scene in acrylic on an 1/8" archival Ampersand claybord panel.  This surface allows me to create effects almost impossible on other surfaces.  It is sold unframed, but you can display it as is on a small easel or you can insert it in a standard size frame as in the photo below. It is small, but I introduced a lot of visual textures to keep you looking at it with much interest...it will certainly speak to some aspects of the viewer's life

Our Trail

An impressionistic palette knife acrylic painting. Measure 24" X 30" on a deep 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas.

This painting was inspired by my regular walks in a trail near our home. I love the serenity of the wooded area and my eyes and my imagination are always attracted by that next bend of the path.

The painting is ready to hang. It has been varnished to protect it and give it a beautiful lustre.

The Lion King - Canadian Parliament Building Carving

My Lion King is an original watercolor painting of a stone carving on the Gothic facade of the Parliament Building in Ottawa, Canada.

It's on Fabriano Artistico 140 lb Cold Press and is approx. 14.5 X 14.5
It is sold  unframed .
I love to paint carvings.  For generations, carvers have been bringing the limestone walls of Parliament Hill to life with the rich foliage, animal life, gargoyles, allegorical figures and historical scenes characteristic of the Gothic and Neo-Gothic styles. Occasionally, they capture the visage of a prominent person, honor a special event or interpret a contemporary theme.

Meditation

his painting does promote meditation with its soft lines, soothing turquoise and other blues. It is 30" x 40" and I like it in both portrait and landscape orientation: the portrait is a Monet-like pond for me, while the landscape format becomes an iris garden.. The close-ups give you a better idea of the various colors and textures.in this painting. Its calming effect would make it perfect for a bedroom although it would also be perfect for almost any room of the house. The painting comes with 2 wires so that you can hang it either in a landscape format as in the main photo or as a portrait...two paintings in one!
The painting has been varnished to protect it over the years. See photo of details below.

Swallowtail Butterfly Miniature

Here is another miniature in my series of "Nature's Liittle Jewels". This painting is on an 1/8"Aquabord by Ampersand; it is 5"x 5", a bit larger than most of my miniatures. I love how vibrant the colors remain on this surface and the fact that the resulting painting does not need any glass. I love to display these small panels on a mini easel, but they can also be inserted in a regular frame. In this miniature, the zinnia petals and the butterfly details are outlined in gold leaf and the painting has a glossy, almost glass-like finish. It makes a perfect small gift for all occasions. On a small easel ( available starting at $ 1 approx. at Walmart or Michaels), it can sit on a shelf, near your computer. You can also insert it in a small frame or even a larger frame with a small opening. Whatever you decide, this beautiful swallowtail butterfly sitting on a zinnia will add a touch of delicate color, beauty and serenity to any room. Bring nature inside!

Ladies in White

"Ladies in White" is an original painting in impressionist style of winter white tulips. These tulips seem to be dancing in the garden. The painting is initialed at the front, signed on the back, is wired and ready to hang. The colors and movement created by the brushstrokes make this such a happy painting.

My Sunny Spring Garden

Imagine walking through a sunny spring garden....red tulips, yellow daffodils, a hint of white, and sunshine everywhere! This is the world of this painting full of joy...Metal leaf accents add the sparkle of dew...Something new to discover every day between the stems...
This painting has received a layer of varnish to protect it from sunlight and dust. It is already wired and ready to hang. It is signed on the back so that hanging with a different orientation is possible.

Three Sunshines in My Garden

This 16" x 16" original oil painting is on a deep gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are painted black to provide a contemporary look without a frame. It is initialed on the front and signed on the back. It is wired and ready to enjoy right out of the box. It will come with a certificate of authenticity and will be packaged in a very professional manner to ensure a safe arrival.

The impressioniststyle and the vivid colors provide freshness to this most serene painting. Let the sunshine in!

A Rose by Any Other Name...Miniature

Here is another miniature for Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days.  It is my entry for Day 8. This painting is on an 1/8"Aquabord by Ampersand.  I love how vibrant the colors remain on this surface and the fact that the resulting painting does not need any glass. I love to display these small panels on a mini easel, but they can also be inserted in a regular frame.

Dance of the lights

This colourful abstract is full of movement and joy. Squares, triangles, rectangles tumble, appear and disappear. The creamy yellow shapes, like serene lights twinkle and dance. In spite of the bright colours, nothing in this painting is harsh. It is soothing like a wave.

This painting is on professional deep gallery canvas with the 1.5" sides painted white. There is no need to frame for a very contemporary look. The back is wired and the painting is ready to hang and enjoy. The painting has been varnished to protect it from dust and UV rays. It will remain beautiful for years and years to come.

Lucky Ladybug Miniature

This miniature painting is on an 1/8" Ampersand Aquabord panel that I love more all the time because of the vivid colors and very special effects that can be achieved on it. In "Ladybug" I had a lot of fun creating a relief of textured gold leaf that emphasizes the details of the cute ladybug. I painted this painting's "twin" several months ago as a commission and could not resist painting another of these delightful little creatures.
I finished the painting with a varnish, then glossy resin-like coating that increases the depth and the shine. These miniatures do not need glass!!!
I like to display these little gems on a mini easel which is readily available ; it is so easy to find a special little corner for them on a shelf, a table, near a computer. Naturally, they can also be inserted into a regular photo frame or a painting frame.
This painting was my entry for Day 7 of Leslie Saeta's 2017 challenge 30 Paintings in 30 Days.

To The Top - Acrylic Abstract

This is an abstract expressionist painting. Dynamic shapes and lines in black, white or vibrant reds dance and race on a subtle background of pastel blues, pinks, cream and yellows: the contrasts of life itself!
The deep gallery canvas sides are painted black and emphasize the painting's contemporary look. The painting does not need any framing and has a wire at the back for hanging. It has received several coats of gloss varnish spray to protect it. The painting will be ready to hang and enjoy.
The painting is initialed on the front and signed on the back. Below is a detail of the painting.

Sunny Duo

"Sunny Duo" will bring sunshine and color in your home year round!  This original oil painting on a deep gallery wrapped canvas measures 12" x 12" x 1.5" .The square format is my favorite especially for florals .

Spring on My Mind Miniature - Day 3 entry of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

This 4" x 4"  miniature painting represents my Day 3 entry in Leslie Saeta's famous "30 Paintings in 30 Days" challenge.  I meant to cover it with resin, but liked it a lot with just an acrylic varnish.

waterlily and buds - Day 2 entry in 30 paintings in 30 days

Waterlily and Buds" is my entry for Day 2 of the famous Leslie Saeta challenge "30 Paintings in 30 days".

It will appear under Day 2 entry #281 until midnight Sept. 3...Yes, I am just a few hours before the deadline again. Will try to do better with my Day 3 entry.

"Waterlily and Buds" is painted on a 1/8"Aquabord  panel by Ampersand, a Texan company. It is a mixture of watercolor and gold leaf with an acrylic varnish. It can be displayed just as an oil or acrylic and not under glass.  I like to display these small pieces as in the photo below on an inexpensive easel ( less than $2 at Michaels) so that it can sit on a table or a shelf. Naturally, it can also be framed.

Small pieces have small price tags, but big value and big impact. What a great way to start your art collection or add a new piece even when all your walls are covered.

My sales are guaranteed: if you are not satisfied, you can return your artwork within 14 days of receipt as long as it is in original condition and you pay all shipping. My paintings, large and small,  have been purchased by collectors from Europe, North America, Australia, Japan and  Great Britain.

Three Sunny Friends

"Three Sunny Friends" is my entry for Day 1 of Leslie Saeta's famous challenge 30 Paintings in 30 Days.

It is listed as #305 on Day 1.  It is painted on a great archival surface, Gessobord, by the Texan company Ampersand. I have never tried this challenge before and will have a hard time meeting the deadlines, but I will do my best. I have recently bought some sunflower bouquets and intend to paint more of these sunny faces.

Do check out all the entries in this challenge.

Arctic commute

Painting: Acrylic and Metal on Wood.
Another artwork in my "Polar Series" with hand embossed pewter.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit Nunavut in the Canadian Arctic and fell in love with Inuit culture and art.

I have been developing a series of artwork to celebrate the North using pewter that I emboss free hand and acrylic gels and emulsions to translate the ice and snow.

This painting of an "Arctic Commute" in a kayak is on a specially prepared cradled panel; the pewter is top quality and contains no lead.
A beautiful statement piece! It is wired and ready to hang. The edges are painted white to continue the idea of ice and snow landscape on the sides of the painting. The artwork has been varnished to protect the pewter and the acrylic for years and years.
Please note the flash reflection on the main photo...the pewter is hard to photograph.

I can produce similar pieces with kayaks, inukshuks, polar bears etc...in much larger sizes such as 24" x 24". Please contact me if interested.
